bgordon@rwu.eduBrad Gordon is Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary for Gilbane Building Company (Gilbane), one of the nation’s largest construction management firms. Mr. Gordon also serves as the company’s Chief Ethics and Compliance Officer. Gilbane is based in Providence, Rhode Island and has offices throughout the United States and abroad. Mr. Gordon oversees all legal affairs for Gilbane including corporate policy-making, compliance, claims resolution, litigation management, mergers and acquisitions, labor relations, contracts and corporate governance.
Prior to joining Gilbane in 2004, he served as corporate counsel for Camp Dresser & McKee Inc. (now CDM Smith), a global consulting, engineering, construction, and operations firm based in Boston, Massachusetts. Mr. Gordon began his career in private practice in Washington, D.C., where he focused on complex corporate litigation, and he continued in private practice in Massachusetts, representing municipalities and public school districts with a focus on legal issues related to public construction projects.
Mr. Gordon is a fellow in the American College of Construction Lawyers and frequently conducts professional seminars and sits on industry panels on topics ranging from construction risk management to corporate ethics. He earned his J.D. in 1992 from George Washington University Law School and a B.A. in English in 1988 from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. Mr. Gordon lives in Marion, Massachusetts, where he also serves as Town Moderator and is a past Chairman of the School Committee and Planning Board member. He is licensed to practice law in Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Virginia, and the District of Columbia.
